Final Impressions: Ikoku Meiro no Croisée

Yes, quite a long time ago, this anime ended with a sweet ending! (Sorry for lateness)

Now the final impressions for "Ikoku Meiro no Croisée"! Yes, a french-japanese anime!

Dejavu? A small girl as the main character and a tall young man as the partner? YES it is very similar to GOSICK, well, except for the fact that the Japanese is now the girl, and the anime features a completely different plotline.

So what is this anime all about? Well, from the title, it is based in Paris, France, in the late 19th Century. In the local Gallerie (Like a shopping centre), there sits a ironworks shop. Though business is bleak, it still is                                                            operational.

An old man, Oscar Claudel, arrives back at the shop, of which his nephew, Claude Claudel (Claude-Sama) is the shop owner, and shocks him. He has brought back a girl! Yune, who decided to join Oscar on his journey, is now in Paris, and is enthralled by the city and its many wonders. She realizes that Japan and France have completely different ways of living, the food, the shops, the clothes & traditions.

And Yune is SO CUTE! OMG I'm getting that loli fever again. I mean, the way she acts is so adorable!

She also meets Alice Blanche, a japanese-con ojou-sama in Paris, along with her sister Camille Blanche, who used to be with claude as a couple.

Nyan.
Over the course f this anime, Yune beings forming strong bonds with these people, as well as other parisians in the king's gallerie. Life starts to revolve around everyone, as the past is dug up, those tragic and memorable.

Why is Yune in Paris? What happened to Claude's father? Why is Alice the way she is? And what happened to Claude and Camille? Find out!

So Yune's presence helps shed new light on everybody's lives, and hence she becomes an eternal part of the gallerie. It's a very touching story as the anime progresses.

Ikoku Meiro no Croisée has the embodiment of a traditional anime, wrapped in a sense of warmth, simple comedy and astonishing scenery. Don't get me wrong, it has an excellent plot-line and theme, but there is a flaw. The anime is, quite boring. If you watched finish the whole anime, the only parts that become interesting is the climax, at the end, and the beginning. Of course, you might have your own opinions about it.

Main Cast
Those who watch Yumeiro Patissiere, which I don't think is a lot, might understand this anime, they are super similar. (Just that the eyes are different) But what do I mean? Well, "Ikoku Meiro no Croisée" theme is very simple.

Ikoku Meiro no Croisée is subbed by AyakoInterrobang and Nemui and has 12 episodes, a 4.5 special and one OVA. It premiered from July 4th - September 19th.

And this review is one of the most popular, with over a thousand hits since I put up the initial.

Well, progress is slow again, thanks to FOUR trips (be it school or others) that have been planned out for me.

Hint for next review: KISSUISO!
