Manga Review: Otaku no Musume-San / おたくの娘さん

What do you get when you have an otaku father? Ask Kanau Yukimura, the main character of "Otaku no Musume-San"! (おたくの娘さん)  (Otaku's Daughter)

Today I'll be giving a review on a very funny & heartwarming manga, of which i've been following very intently.

Yosh! It's Kouta Morisaki, and he's living a normal life... OF AN OTAKU! Yes, this man in his twenties is living the perfect otaku life, with all he needs to be happy, anime figurines, ero-manga, character pillows, hentai, and a daughter that he never knew existed!

Exactly! In this manga, a girl named Kanau suddenly shows up in his room and claims to be his daughter! But everyone knows the combination:

Otaku + Daughter = Apocalyptical Disaster

Or so it is. After being pushed on the responsibility by Kanau's mother, Kouta now has to take care of a nine year old girl, from scratch! How will he live up to the responsibility of a father? Will his otaku life be in jeopardy? How will he earn Kanau's love?

Otaku no Musume-San is a very good manga to read. It is hilarious, as you will see from the residents of Higansou. They all have a special trait and are all OTAKUS, one way or another. Why i like it is because it gives a lot of information about otaku life, as well as the important theme of family & belonging, growing up. Who would have thought such a combination of a manga existed.

If you are looking for a manga to cheer your spirits, this manga is definitely for you! Some warning though, there is ECCHI. Lots of it.

Otaku no Musume-San can be found in MangaFox, and currently has 60 chapters up to date... (Quite short for 5 years of serialization but oh well). I know for the fact that it has one scanlator, Nicchi (the name of the most perverted character in the manga)
