Here's your seasonal dose of CRAZY with this fantastically funny anime, "Haiyoru! Nyarlko-san"!!!!
Mahiro Yasaka
So where does all the random stuff begin? Well with a serious horror plot of course! Our main protagonist, Mahiro Yasaka is struggling as he attempts to outrun an out of this world monster.
It manages to corner him, but then is suddenly stabbed by someone and died.
Ok...
It is then revealed that the person who saved Mahiro was none other than our other main character, the MOST WACKY, FUNNY, ENERGETIC AND CUTE character I have seen in a LONG time. Yes, its Nyarlathotep, or Nyarlko-san.
For those who are asking WHAT? WTF is Nyarlathotep? Well, it is a name derived from one of H.P. Lovecraft's works on the Cthulhu Mythos, a shared ficitional universe, of which this anime's original novel writer based idea from.
OMG
For those who don't know what the Cthulhu Mythos is (er, like EVERYONE), think of it as something alien with an aztec feel to it.
So yeah, this anime is an adaptation to the mythos, of which the fictional elemental classifications have been all converted into cute anime girls.
Now that wasn't too hard to digest is it? I summarized it into about 100 words for you guys.
Yeah, so now we know what angle this anime is going. Alien. OMG.
WTF
Anyways, I will first explain what IS GOING ON. Nyarlko-san is a part of the Space Defence Agency, who has begged her boss to be dispatched to Earth, to protect Mahiro from certain death. There have been other aliens planning on hurting him, which she has to deal with.
And deal with she DOES. She completely disembowels and rips them wearing a smile on her face. Like I said, crazy. Why she begged for the job was because she fell in love with Mahiro at first sight... and she's also an otaku. An alien as an otaku. (Insert Jackie Chan Meme here)
POKEMON
Anyway, in the second episode, she decides to bring Mahiro to Ry'leh to investigate what was going on and put a stop to it. Of which she did and the plot literally ended in episode 2. That's all.
I was quite pleased and displeased at the same time in episode 2, where a lot of the serious scenes with the serious feel going on with it were literally changed into something else with the flick of humor... The action scenes were quite funny and at the same time using some CQC (Close Quarters Combat) which I don't get.
I WONDER WHO IT IS
Well of course, if its humour you are looking for, THIS IS IT. This will be one of the funniest shows of the season.
If its ECCHI you are looking for, this is also IT. However it ISN'T Mahiro as the perverted one. ITS NYARLKO.
However, Nyarlko-san would be, in that sense, very different from your other heroines. Not tsundere, very perverted and very dirty minded, random. So only the looks hold, of which isn't her true form either.
It also has a very funny OP video which summarizes how the whole anime is going to look like quite well. AND WHO IS THAT VOICE ACTOR WITH THE FUNNY VOICE? Well it's Vanilla from "Yumeiro Patissiere" (OMG)
Personally though, I feel that the plot, after episode 2, is just gonna be your usual ecchi humour episodes with some action in between.
Haiyore! Nyarlko-san is a Spring 2012 anime which premiered on April 9th, 2012. It is being fansubbed by Commie, Ahodomo, Hatsuyuki, and Underwater-rori.
Enjoy being random and losing your sanity. LMAOing MedusaS Edited by FayeA
Yeah, so I realized that Beelzebub has came to an end. So... This is my first ever final impression. Yes... So it is very very late, but I was doing other stuff and I had a bunch of animes and drama to watch.
So let's go!
Like 'father' like 'son'
What would you do if you found out that you had to take care of a baby, which is not yours, but your parents think otherwise? Tatsumi Oga’s life turned upside down when a baby clung to him. This baby is none other than Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV (AKA Baby Beel), the youngest son of the current demon king. In other words, the baby is a demon baby. Along with him came woman named Hildegarde (Hilda), who is a maid responsible of taking care of Baby Beel, and a dimensional transport demon named Batim do Emuna Alaindelon. Due to the fact that the baby needs a human parent to take care of him (a human who is strong, arrogant, and thinks nothing for the fellow man, and Oga fits the description perfectly), Baby Beel thus sticks to him and Oga is forced to take care of him. Oga can’t go away from the baby more than 15 meters or he will experience a high voltage shock that would kill him. (The baby shoots lightning out of its body if it cries or throws tantrums….OUCH) And things happen around him as he tries to get rid of the baby.
Hilda
After the first few episodes, it was revealed in the plot that Baby Beel was sent by his father to destroy the world we live in. So not only does Oga have to raise Baby Beel, he also has to stop the world from coming to an end. (Though the demon king is super obsessed with games despite the fact that he is bad at playing them, to the extent that he ignores practically everything else. And that includes destroying the world. So yeah, despite the 'warning' of the world coming to an end. It never actually happened.)
Kawaii
So one word I have for this anime is: "Insane". It is totally out-of-this-world (literally) kind of insane. The randomness of the anime totally amazes me. Although I won't say I usually watch this kind of anime (since there aren't many fighting based animes that are funny... wait, some are...) as the plot and the title seriously threw me off. Yeah, and add the baby and I probably wouldn't even have bothered. But for some reason, I was tempted to watch it. SO I DID. And guess what? I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
(O_o) I wonder what happened...
The plot, despite some similarities and overlaps, is pretty well played out. What I really really like about this anime is the fact that all characters have an opportunity to shine in the anime. No character (big or small) have less than 20 seconds of time on screen. Every now and then, there will be a diversion of episode where the supporting characters can shine and develop and be the main lead for that episode. This is awesome as sometimes it gets a little annoying that the main lead is hogging the lime-light and the supporting characters desperately need more development, especially for viewers to understand them better. :D
A few of the many characters
Yeah. The songs are also awesome and I love the animation for the openings and endings!!! <3 The only complaint I have is that the producers should spend more money to hire more creative story-liners. Other than that, I don't really have any issue with this anime!!! So do watch it if you run out of animes! :D
The anime ended with 60 episodes on 25th march 2012... So I'm late. But better late than never! HAHA *wink*
WooHoo!
Yeah and school is hectic for me. The teachers were super boring and I probably fell asleep in class more times than I can count. And the projects are killing me. But otherwise, I should probably still be hanging around (especially in the K-POP section at YouTube) and if I disappear for long periods of time (like recently) it is either because of school or because my fav band came out with a new album or something like that.
Cheers. IAmBored *who lacks an organizer and thus is replaced by an irritable panda* Edited by FayeA *who is attending cram school and has no time for editing.

Yosh!
Sorry that the reviews by me are so late nowadays. Exams are coming up and I really don't have a lot of time to relax and write reviews.
And... I just realized that viewership has dropped from a daily 410 to 120. Wow. That's ugly.
But for now, I will do the initial impressions for Accel World / アクセル・ワールド!
So the story begins in a setting that's not too far away from us, in 2040, where technology has advanced to a stage where manipulation of the five senses have become available. Neuro-synchronization allows people to link their brains similar to that of computers. So basically you can view whatever you want while having windows on the side of your eyes, and enter virtual realms that feel realistic.
Virtual Realm
"Haruyuki Arita"
And thats when I saw the main character for the first time. OMG. Our protagonist, Haruyuki Arita, that sounds like Ouma Shu from Guilty Crown, appears in front of my eyes as a short obese student, being tortured and bullied by other people. (I like Wikipedia's interpretation, where they say "short, fat boy")
So Haru decides to escape into the virtual world, to vent his angers from reality. (He's virtual avatar is very suitable) He likes playing what I would depict as a 3D version of squash with special power-ups.
"Kuroyukihime"
However, he comes back one day and finds that his high score has been severely trashed. Life basically sucks for Haru now, or is it? He gets the attention of his school's vice president, Kuroyukihime, who is, on the up side, one of the more beautiful characters in the anime. Mysterious, she presents a different ideal to Haru.
Do you want to rebuild reality into a form you never dreamt of?
"Brain Burst"
"Neuro linker"
Haru agrees and installs a file called "Brain Burst", which is like the ultimate reality hacker programme I've ever seen, which gives you the ability to freeze time into a thousandth of a second, and lets you think through your strategies.
"Silver Crow"
However, with such great powers comes at a cost. Accelerations use up acceleration points. People who install such programmes must fight in a virtual arena, to maintain their acceleration points. (like a HP bar)
Reborn into the "Silver Crow", will Haru be able to accelerate his world into the greater reality?
"Ash Roller"
Although not much actual plot has developed, the setting and how its progressing seems quite good from where I'm standing, with rational explanations and all that.
Personally, there aren't any issues to talk about here. It's all about the future and all that. Why not give it a chance. I'm sure that this series will be one of the more interesting ones this season.
Accel World has an awesome 24 episodes and right now has premiered 3. It also comes with a light novel and manga version, of which you SHOULDN'T READ if you don't want spoilers. It is currently fansubbed by Commie, Asenshi, Hadena, UTW, and WhatStory.
Welcome to the accelerated world. Welcome to Accel World.
Hi everybody! I'm going to do an old anime/manga for today... Since there are no new animes released that I like, yet.
So now I have about 6 animes that are ongoing and that is seriously my record. So there is a high chance that I may not watch new ones for a while. (unless the plot and art is like superb, then that anime may be included in my ongoing list) I am totally dreading when my animes end, especially if they end all around the same time. (Imagine how many final impressions I have to do!)
Now this anime is an extremely lighthearted anime and is quite funny! :D
I know I promised this a long time ago. So yup, let's go!!!
Skip Beat!
What kyouko looked like before transforming
So the main female protagonist is a sixteen year old girl named Kyoko Mogami. She followed her childhood friend, Shotaro Fuwa, to Tokyo because she thought he wanted her to. She is totally in love with him and even juggled with multiple jobs because of Shotaro's expenditures and lavish lifestyle. She is so supportive to the extent that she does everything for him, and does nothing for herself. She had left her hometown and stopped her education just to go to Tokyo with him. Upon arriving in Tokyo, Shotaro, or Sho (as his fans call him), worked hard and was ranked number 7 for the top 20 most popular male celebrities in Japan. He is also described as an extremely talented musician . However, he only treats Kyoko as a maid and never as a lover or childhood friend.
The first encounter after kyouko
swore revenge
Kyoko overheard him saying this one day, when she went to visit him, and heard him describe her as a boring and plain girl. Sho then proceeds to flirt with his manager and Kyoko saw the entire thing. She then realizes how much time and effort she has 'wasted' on Sho. She saw the difference in attitude when Sho interacts with his manager as compared to with her. She also learns that the reason Sho wanted her to be in Tokyo with him is to do his house-keeping, and he said that he ever forced her to go to Tokyo with him.
Ren (left), Koko and Sho
Kyoko didn't shed any tears at her discovery, instead, she vowed revenge. She wants to be a bigger and more popular star than Sho. With this determination, she changes her appearance and enters into showbiz.
Ren's Manager
At first, she was unable to get into LME (the company which is in competition with Sho's company) but she 'forced' the head of LME's talent section, Takenori Sawara into letting her audition. She had failed the audition initially, but with the LME president, Lory Takarada's help, she joined a department called 'Love Me'. This department was founded by Lory for those people who he deemed as having potential, but they are lacking a key component/emotion: Love. Although she joined LME successfully, she had to collect points as she helped other people, at the same time, also getting random jobs.
The story then continues with Kyoko's journey in the showbiz world. Despite facing many challenges and troublemakers, she ended up overcoming the obstacles and became friends with the people she met.
EVIL Spirits
Another main male protagonist is Ren Tsuruga, No. 1 male celebrity. He is hated by Sho as he is more popular. In the beginning of the anime, they hate each other, but after joining LME, Kyoko hates him even more because of his attitude against her. Ren does not like Kyoko's motive of joining the showbiz world, and he thinks that all actors and actresses should be focused in their jobs, not having revenge as their top priority. So he purposely pisses her off.
Of course lots of things happened along the way and resulted in both Sho and Ren falling in love with Kyoko. (though both males denies it.) And this results in an over used plot-line of a triangle love.
Impressions:
Obsessed with being a princess
Yeah, so this anime is really good. I really like how the characters can act so well. It's really amazing to see them in action. The suspense of the anime is well handled and the story is closely following the manga. The randomness of some things in the anime is really quite humorous.
I wouldn't say that the art is the best, but it is definitely watch-able. And the guys are freaking tall... What I really like about the manga/anime is that Kyoko is actually not very pretty. I mean, out in the anime/manga world, there are tons of beautiful or well-endowed females. I like how Kyoko is portrayed as an average looking girl that has an impressive ability, and I think that's really important. What you have on the inside rather than on the outside. It shows that any normal person with courage and ability can achieve near-impossible goals. :D
I totally love this anime. It is about the only anime that I know that has its story-line revolving about showbiz world. The characters are easy to fall in love and empathize with, with the exception of Sho (in my opinion).
Genre: Romance, Comedy
This anime premired on Oct 5 2008 and ended on March 29 2009. It has a total of 25 episodes.
There is a Taiwanese drama based on this anime that ended recently. A total of 15 episodes. The name of the drama is Extravagant Challenge.
There is no news about a 2nd season of anime for skip beat. Although there are rumors, but no official news has been released. The anime never resolved the love triangle between the main protagonists. So there might be another season in the future, but it would not be anytime soon, since the manga hasn't touched on resolving the romance too.
Yeah, so this is an enjoyable anime! Just chillax!!!

Woots! It's been a long time! Well that's probably not a good thing for you guys.
Anyways, should I explain why this particular review took so long? Well it was because I got FREAKED OUT. Haha, truth be said, I was as freaked out as DarrenW when he first started on "Another".
Why? You really want to know why? There's a very good reason, readers. It's because this anime is so extremely well done. Yes, an excellent job on trying to display horror. Well it is your mystery horror anime after all.
Sakikibara Kouchi
The trouble first begins when our protagonist, Sakikibara Kouchi arrives in Yoyomiya, a small town near the coastal area, with everything that appears to be anything but unusual. Recovering from a lung condition, he meets our other protagonist, Misaki Mei, who is quite cute. With an quiet demeanor, she wears an eyepatch over her left eye, and would not tell Kouchi why.
Misaki Mei
He is posted to class 3-3 of Yoyomiya North High School and everything APPEARS super duper normal with not much happening. You don't get the sense that a real plot is going to hit you in the face, until the LAST minute of episode 3, when suddenly...
Death #2
One of the committee members, Yukari Sakuragi, slips from the stairs, and her neck is impaled clean through with the tip of the umbrella she was holding, and she died. Not that there's anything wrong about it, but the anime SHOWED IT IN YOUR FACE what happened.
He also discovers that everybody treats Misaki like she was not there, that only he can see her. It was like she doesn't exist, like a GHOST.
This is where Kouchi discovers something odd about the class. Something is out of place, and he has to find out why. While discovering, he is aided by Sanae Mizuno, who was the maid taking care of him when he was receiving treatment. Out of the blue, near the end of episode 4, in the midst of researching, the lift she takes suddenly takes a plunge when the cable snaps, and she is literally crushed to death.
And basically that's where DarrenW left it.
Death #3
Irritated about the deaths and getting no answers, he decides to ask his close friends, of which right before telling Kouchi, Ikuo Takabayashi faints and dies from a heart attack. He is then ignored by the rest of the class, just as Misaki was.
Upon speaking with the librarian, the plot is finally revealed. 26 years ago, in 1972 a person named Misaki Yoyomiya died of an unspecified accident, but the class refused to believe HE was dead. Yes, NOT THE SAME MISAKI. Omg this anime is so awesome.
By treating Misaki Yoyomiya as someone who exists, they inadvertently brought him back from the dead. This cycle repeats itself. By adding another person to the class in the form of a reincarnated dead, a natural phenomenon occurs, where the OTHER students will all die, because, the dead attracts death after all. So THAT'S why its called "ANOTHER". The dead will reappear as the living several years down the road, and the memory of their death in the past is intentionally made forgotten to the class members.
Death #4
Then suddenly, the homeroom teacher grabs out a kitchen knife and starts STABBING HIMSELF, WITH BLOOD spewing out of him onto the students, of which some were traumatized (NO SHIT).
And that's where I would have left it, if it wasn't for my perseverance.
Death #5
However, in 1983, the phenomenon stopped halfway through the year, which was unusual. Something was done that year that seemed to have stopped the deaths in its tracks.
Then, along with the other main characters (Naoya Teshigawara, Tomohiko Kazami, Yuya Mozhizuki, Izumi Akazawa), they attempt to investigate what happened in 1983, and find out about something significant one of the students then did.
He killed the dead to send the dead back to the dead. By removing the dead person from the class, everything is restored to normal and no abnormalities will follow.
Death #6
Going back to the same place where the class 3-3 of 83 went, they discovered the whole story behind the end of the killings, but the tape which contained the information got leaked. Panic and chaos filled the class as they try to find who died AND KILL HIM/HER.
Death #7
So yeah, the last two episodes are where you need to be mentally prepared. Things suddenly go waaaay out of hand when the whole class is informed about how to stop death, and so each of them START KILLING EACH OTHER. 7 people died in episodes 11 and 12, in the end it was close to what I predicted, ALMOST THE WHOLE CLASS.
Death #8
But I won't tell you the ending. Will the calamity be stopped, what is Misaki Mei hiding, and what will become of class 3-3? Still, the ending is probably one of the most saddest endings I ever seen, Kouichi lost a lot of things that day.
So begs the question: WHO IS THE DEAD ONE?
Death #9
Death #10
I feel, that the plot could be developed more, for the very fact that it was shown in a rushed state where the rest of the episodes mostly consisted of erm... death.
Death #11
The theme, I have to admit, is PERFECT. HORROR and DEATH were EXCELLENTLY expressed, and I could not have seen anything better. There was also a very obvious theme going on near the end, which was human instinct & madness through fear of death.
Death #12
Art - I think the blood was disgusting and revolting, but yeah good job there. Very... real.
NO SHIT
For impression, I'm sure, that this will be one of the most UNFORGETTABLE animes I have ever seen, partly because of the unforgettable scenes of death. (Especially episode 7) The lasting impression was strong, and I was impressed at what the anime achieved as a whole.
Finale
Death #13
Personally though, if you are the kind of person who doesn't like horror, or deaths in a way which is crude and bloody, DO NOT watch this anime. It is not censored and is very realistic so you would probably have PHT.
For those who are able to handle it, I strongly recommend this show for those who are looking for something different from the rest of the animes. You will find that it has a different feel to it. Some deaths were sad but at the same time you feel excited because you want to know who is the dead person. Sorta like a mystery show without clues. But near the end of it all you go "OMG!!! WHY OF ALL PEOPLE..."
However, I have to admit, the saddest part of the whole thing is that its going to HAPPEN AGAIN for next year's Class 3-3.
"Another" was a Winter 2011 anime, which had 12 episodes. It was aired from January 10 to March 27, 2012 and fansubbed by Commie, Hadena, Underwater, WhyNot, AniYoshi, Taka, and CTSS. It also has a novel and manga, which has some differences in story, and an OVA will be out in May.
Have a lucky day!
Oh yeah, I heared Sankarea is out. Dead Zombie Attack? Another Horror XD
Hint: I seriously have no idea what's next
