Summer 2011 Anime OP & ED Rankings Part 2

Yes, it is I, fabulous me as always! XD

And now I'll be doing the OP & ED rankings for the TOP 4!

And for fourth place!

4th Place

Usagi Drop OP

NO SIGNAL

YES! THIS CUTE ANIME'S OP surely deserves to be 4th. Don't the catchy lyrics just want to make you clap along?? Well certainly for me. AND GUESS WHAT. The song is "Sweet Drops" sung by none other than PUFFY. AMIYUMI. Yes, for americans, europeans and viewers all around the world, it is the SAME ARTIST that same the opening for TEEN TITANS. Was quite shocked when I went to check. However, the opening for Usagi Drop didn't score that well for transition, as it stuck at one frame for i believe 30 seconds of the time, but definitely full marks for ART. And there is no video because youtube DOESN'T have any mirrored ones. If you want to go and see it, search for it yourself.

3rd Place

THE iDOLM@STER OP

NO SIGNAL

OMG, CUTE ANIMES ALL THE WAY. Personally, DarrenW likes this the best, because it has cute girls (lolic...). HOWEVER, that's not the point. Why it is 3rd is. Main reasons? Because of the song & the transition. Well perfect, since the anime is about idols anyway. The song is also catchy, but has a very light and warm tone to it, and it is titled "READY!!" which has been sung by all 12 voice actors in this anime, hence I don't know who is the artist. 765 PRO? hahaha.

2nd Place

Mawaru Penguindrum OP

NO SIGNAL

ZZZzzz. This anime doesn't even have its OP on youtube. Anyway, this OP and the 1st place one was the argument me and DarrenW had. Reasons why we liked it? The anime looked so calm and cool! Especially with the penguins and the transition, it really felt impressive, very much like Eden Of The East again. Besides that, the song, though not very nice at the start, it gets better as you listen more times. It's called "Noruniru" and is sung by "Yakushimaru Etsuko and the Metro Orchestra (Wow and this anime is about the subway)

AND 1ST PLACE IS

1st Place

Hanasaku Iroha OP2

YES, DIDN'T EXPECT THAT DID YOU? Why this anime's OP is first? because it has the BEST SONG & ART & TRANSITION. The song "Omokage Warp" by "nano.RIPE" is catchy, has a nice drum roll, and the best electric guitar. I was blown away. And the producers manage to link the actions of the characters with the song really well! Especially the last part.

AND THIS TIME WE HAVE THE SUPER ULTIMATE AWESOME OP/ED VIDEO OF THE SEASON CATEGORY!! IT IS:

HAHAHAHA. Well, it isn't an OP or ED anyway.

Artist In The Spotlight: ELISA

Good Afternoon readers!

If you all have noticed, I now post reviews on weekends! A lot of things are happening IRL and I can't post so often! But I will try to post as much as possible during these weekends! ^_^

So today I'll be doing a new segment in WWHCurrent! "Artists In The Spotlight"! Part of the Music section of WWHC!

And from the title, I'll be talking about my favourite artist, ELISA! People who watch anime will definitely know who she is! (Well, my genre that is...)

ELISA is a singer with Geneon Universal Entertainment, of which she has produced a whole load of songs dedicated to classical music.

In 2007, she sang "Euphoric Field" which was used in the anime "Elf: A Tale Of Memories".

In 2008, her 2 songs, "Hikari" and "Ebullient Future" were used in the 2 animes, "Nabari no Ou" and "Ef: A Tale of Melodies".

And of course! In 2009 she sang for "To Aru Kagaku no Railgun"! The 2 EDs "Dear My Friend" & "Real Force", of which is my favourite!

And in 2010, she debuted the single "god only knows" for my favourite anime! "The World God Only Knows"! Though the original song was 8 minutes long, I loved it!

In 2011, "The World God Only Knows II" came back and she sang the OP for a 2nd time, with "A Whole New World God Only Knows"!

ELISA has released 3 albums over the past 3 years, they are

       "Rogue Adolescence"                                 "white pulsation"

                                                and "Lasei"

I think it's because of the violins. I just realized all the songs i like have violins in them... So, if you like violins, this is definitely for you! ELISA has quite a high voice, so it fits in perfectly with the songs she sings.

The songs she sings are all very enjoyable an what is interesting is the combination of modern and classical, some songs having electric guitar and synthesizers with the classical violin and piano. There is a culmination in all her songs that differentiates itself very much from the normal classical singers.

Ah and she also sings English in her songs, though a lot of the time I can't make it out.

And she's having a new single out in August!

So why not? Try listening to her songs!

Expect more reviews next!

Which anime is everybody dead?

Spring 2011 Anime Openings & Endings Part 2

Hey Readers!

I'm going to announce the top 3 positions for the OP & EDs!

3RD PLACE

Steins;Gate ED

"Tokitsukasadoru Jūni no Meiyaku" (刻司ル十二ノ盟約) by Yui Sakakibara

Sung by Yui Sakakibara, you have to like how this song is structured! From a silent classical start, then the build up, followed by the full climax! You get that feeling when it hits the climax. Hmm... might consider playing this song... And you have to love the guitar in this song. And in the video, i didn't really realise what those floating pieces were until the last few seconds, lol. But what is with the ending picture?

2ND PLACE

Hidan no Aria OP

"Scarlet Ballet" by May'n

As I said from the review, awesome song! But the violin is probably electronic. Maybe i'm biased towards violin songs... Anyway, the video complements the music really well, well what did you expect from an action anime.

And first place is...

1ST PLACE

Steins;Gate OP

"Hacking to the gate" by Kanako Ito

There is a very good reason why it's first, and that's because this song is awesome. It's even become the Infinity Rhapsody Practice Song No 7. Maybe because i'm the bassis, so i think it's damn cool. But you have to hand it to Kanako Ito for this wonderful piece. There is not one moment in this song that is dull. The OP's theme is also interesting, mainly black and white. Steins; Gate twice in a row...

Oh yes, i will be doing a review on "Sengoku Otome - Momoiro Paradox" (Battle Girls - Time Paradox) tomorrow or the day after. Stay tuned!

Spring 2011 Anime Openings & Endings

Hi readers!

I do apologize for not posting for 3 days. There were technical difficulties.
So today, i will post 3 posts!

First of which, which you all can see by the sidebar, are the animes that i watch.

So i'll be reviewing the best OPs and EDs of this season.

DISCLAIMER: All Videos are mirrored and all credit goes to the producers of the following material.

7TH PLACE

Gosick ED2

Sung by Komine Lisa, probably the best singer who merges traditional opera & folk songs with modern instruments, to produce a defeaning impact to listeners! I couldn't get this tune out of my head for nearly a week, lol. Go Gosick!

6TH PLACE

Hanasaku Iroha OP

With its high pitch singing, its cute and emotional. This OP is probably one of the most fast paced and catchy ones of the lot, and full of life, just like Iroha!

5TH PLACE

Gosick ED

Komine Lisa again! This is probably the BEST classical ED i have every heard in my LIFE, Violin + Electric Guitar + Wicked Drum Beat = AWESOMENESS.

For now, these are the rankings! Will post the first 4 later. ^_^
